Mental health is probably one of the most important conversations we could have today. It concerns every one of us and impacts more families than you can imagine.
Anxiety. Addiction. Depression. Debilitating stress. We have a mental health crisis, and it’s evidenced by the growing number of mass shootings and suicides not only sweeping our nation, but affecting us right here at home.
Florida ranks 49th among the states for a lack of access to care to mental-health programs. About 70 percent of the people who need mental-health treatment in this state can’t get it. Either the resources aren’t available or, sometimes, people can’t figure out how to navigate the system to find the resources.
Most people who need help aren't getting it.
Client Advocacy Program
Grounding Wire is committed to closing the gap between people who need help and people who get it. One of the ways we're accomplishing this is through our Client Advocacy Program. If you or a loved one needs mental health support, but you're unsure where to go or how to navigate the mental health system, we can help.
Clients are assigned a client advocate. Your client advocate will assess your needs, check your benefits if you have health insurance, find financial support if you can't afford help, schedule appointments for you and even facilitate transportation if you do not have a way to get to your appointment.
Does it ever feel like you're rolling a boulder uphill?
Sometimes, simple tasks, even calling to schedule an appointment, can feel overwhelming. You're not alone. You don't have to go this road alone either.
Grounding Wire has client advocates on standby, ready to help you navigate the system and find the help you need. What's more, our client advocacy program is paid for by our generous donors and fundraising efforts. Therefore, there is no cost to you for our help. That's why we're here--because you matter.
